This year it took a while for the beautiful warm weather to arrive in Calgary. Finally it felt like spring is here and my outdoor photo session season was in full swing. I was so excited about this maternity shoot, and then the day before, thick smoke from the forest fire covered our city all the sudden and our air quality index went off the chart.......

Around this time of the year, we would typically expect a few heavy downpours, but not smoke this early. Luckily, it cleared up just in time for our session and it turned out to be perfect spring weather after all!!!

There is another reason that I was excited about this session. I really enjoy capturing the feeling of anticipation. I think that the idea of waiting for something makes things extra special and I could really feel the excitement and joy during this maternity session. It could be through the conversations about the baby on its way while soon to be big sis cuddles and feels mom's tummy. Plus, expecting moms always have a beautiful baby glow.

Lastly, I love a dress with pockets. It adds some laid-back coolness somehow! Enjoy the sneak peek.
